It’s forcing the “oblivious mc” too much, I HATE that JP cliché…
I know it’s supposed to mean she just heard something she can’t believe or doesn’t understand, but NONE THAT WAS SAID WAS WEIRD OR INSIDIOUS OR PRONE TO BE A MUSUNDERSTANDING.
And the ML straight up asked her if he was her lover and she denied it, then what was all the rest?
why the need of being so cryptic???
Specially since she straight up acted appropriately to the situation and didn’t accept any advances.
But that A-hole was waaay too pushy… To the point that I was getting really uncomfortable… and when she was about to give in, here comes the ML to save her… really??? she was doing fine and she faltered because HER MAID gave the bastard an excuse, LEAVE THE FRIKKEN MAID WITH HIM AND CARRY ON, YOU DON’T INVITE HIM TO YOUR CARRIAGE.
The situation was weird enough to do that and not regret it, she already told him to F-OFF.
And I know who that “viscount son” is, but this is too stupid
Rebecca seriously just introduced a woman with a fiance to the illegitimate prince (or some other power player that wants to disgrace the Duke because of “reasons” that WON’T be enough to justify him, the author made him irredeemable), in what seems to be her giving HIM details about the Duchess schedule, and under the pretext that they were “childhood friends” he forced himself into the carriage of an unmarried woman with a fiancée.
AND HE’S KNOWN TO BE A PHILANDERER, this would tarnish her reputation, AND THE MAID DIDN’T CARE.
She doesn’t deserve the trust that was given to her.
And If this was “mind control magic”, it doesn’t matter, she should NOT remain next to the MC.
Fire the maid… please MC, just fire her, this is way too suspicious and you already noticed, don’t let it drag on… she already proved herself to be untrustworthy.
We were doing fine but it’s annoying that the MC is portrayed as very smart and cunning and suddenly becomes dumb, I get the trope with the ML, but not her maid or people that want to hurt her.

Chill man, this is based on some medieval European times where saying “Pardon?” is the equivalent of today’s “What?”. Besides, it’s just one chapter, MC rejected his advances so how does that suddenly make her a dumb character? I think you’re just being overdramatic.

Meh, I probably had a bad day and was overly irritated by the novel, I’m still reading it, just got on my nerves that particular day.

Thanks for the new chapter. I noticed how the novel is getting far different from the adaptation and I cannot stop reading it. I think the novel have much more fluff! I like it!!
